I’m Amy.

I work at the intersection of instructional design and learning strategy, helping organizations clarify what learning is actually needed and design solutions that change behaviour — not just deliver content.

My Approach

Outcome-Driven

Each engagement begins with identifying performance goals and ensuring strategic alignment.

Systems Thinker

I design learning ecosystems — not isolated courses.

Collaborative Partnership

I work directly with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to clarify direction, prototype solutions, and iterate intentionally.

Accessibility-First

Inclusive design principles guide every stage of development.

Strategic Execution

I translate strategy into fully developed, accessible learning experiences.

Portfolio

This portfolio contains fictionalized samples of learning assets I’ve done for various companies and clients. The content has been adapted, as original assets were proprietary. However, the strategy, design, and execution mirrors the approaches taken with the original assets. This includes guided and unguided system simulations, microlearning, and compliance training. Each asset was developed as part of broader learning modernization projects with accessibility at top of mind.

No two learning projects are identical. Each one deserves its own strategy, design, and execution. These selected samples demonstrate my multifaceted approach to creating learning solutions that align with regulatory and business goals, resolving real-work corporate constraints, and orienting solutions around employee learning needs.

HR System Onboarding Training (Guided and Unguided Simulations)

To train People Managers on a new HR system, these simulated experiences are part of a comprehensive learning plan involving several simulations that cover core system functionalities. These sims address how to assign new tasks to employees.

In the guided simulation, learners are instructed on where to go and how to find essential functionalities. This introduces them to the system without the initial feeling of overwhelm, concluding with a summative quiz.

The unguided (gamified) simulation is designed for learners to test out their knowledge and potentially be awarded a gold, silver, or bronze trophy for team recognition. Further, it affirms their current knowledge level and whether additional training or practice is required prior to system launch.

Both versions helped learners apply their knowledge to the implemented system 50% faster than previous training with other adopted systems.

Leading with Integrity: Ethics and Culture in Financial Services
(Micro-Lesson)

This micro-lesson belongs to a broader Leadership Development program within a financial organization, focusing on how to embody ethical leadership.

The lesson provides a concise overview of the significance of ethical decision-making in the financial sector, several real-world scenarios to examine, and practical tips for creating a culture of compliance and honesty within one’s own team.

Similarly to other micro-lessons in the program, this one concludes with a downloadable resource called the ‘Ethical Leadership Toolkit’. It is designed as a “reflective” resource, intended to be referred to on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis so that leaders can self-assess their own ability to lead with integrity and identify potential areas of improvement.

Learners self-reported that this lesson, in addition to the others in the program, helped them deepen their self-reflective and receptive skills when leading their teams. Compared to previous training, completion rates were 30%-40% higher.

Anti-Money Laundering and Regulatory Compliance
(Quarterly Scenario-Based Learning)

AML regulatory requirements always need to be updated in response to growing global complexity and human rights violations. As such, this learning solution is implemented quarterly and is updated with new scenarios and material to reflect the most current and pressing issues in AML work.

In this particular module, several scenarios are presented for the learner to explore. Each scenario is structured with initial context, major decisions to make, and a summarized outcome of the given situation. Though ungraded, completion of these modules was designated as mandatory within the LMS.

As the scenarios were pulled from real-world situations, learners reported higher degrees of immediate relevance to their work. Additionally, assigning the quarterly modules as mandatory secured 50% higher completion rates. When modules are incomplete by their assigned deadlines, managers are equipped to intervene and ensure learner completion.
